South-West Rail Line Commuter Car Park Program
Project Background:
Our client contracted us to design and construct a retaining wall system as part of the roadworks necessary for a new commuter car park. The main objective was to create a stable and durable solution to manage the site’s natural slope, enabling safe and effective road construction that would support both the new parking infrastructure and additional site facilities.

Challenges:
Building the wall next to an active rail corridor presented a major challenge. Strict safety guidelines had to be followed to protect the nearby rail line. The site also had a steep slope, making the earthworks more complex. Plus, the nearby substation required a wall design that could handle heavy loads.

Solution & Results:
To overcome limited site access and reduce working space, we focused on efficient project management and onsite coordination, ensuring minimal disruption near the rail corridor. We utilised MagnumStone Gravity for the retaining wall, a high-performance modular block system that offered both structural strength and aesthetic appeal. The result was a high-quality, stable retaining wall that met design load requirements, integrated seamlessly with the environment, and provided a safe foundation for the commuter car park.
