John Hunter Hospital and Innovation Precinct
Project Background:
We were engaged to construct retaining walls using AB Vertical MSE, AB Vertical NFC, and split-face masonry systems to support the development of new link roads into the hospital. These walls needed to provide strong and durable foundations for critical infrastructure.
Challenges:
The project involved constructing 9m-high curved MSE retaining walls over a culvert. The combination of extensive wall heights and multiple systems required careful engineering to ensure stability. Steep grading and poor ground conditions added further complexity to the planning and execution phases.
Solutions & Results:
We combined various retaining wall systems to create a stable, unified structure. With careful planning and coordination, we successfully navigated the challenging site conditions. The result was a high-quality, curved retaining wall that met both structural and aesthetic goals, supporting the new link roads and ensuring long-term performance.
